Having the ability to remotely trigger a cameras shutter can be extremely useful. You may have noticed all the cameras huddled around the back of the net at football match, or at either end of a basketball game or sometimes on the inside of a running track and not a cameraman in sight? The cameras are set up prior to the event often with a wide angle lens to capture as much of the action as possible and controlled remotely by a small device in the camera mans hand
I use the Hahnel Captur system with Pro Module which gives me a number of different ways to trigger my camera. It can trigger the shutter release using sound, a lazer, infrared or by manually pressing a button up to 100 meters away from the camera it’s self. By setting up and infrared beam across the finish line, every time the beam is broken it sends a message to the camera to take a photo. It can also determine how many times it triggers the camera plus for how long it take photos.
By putting the camera in burst mode I can capture any number of sequential photos.
Using photoshop to produce unique and interested finish line photos.
